Thanks so much, Tany! I still think the actual garments look better than in pictures (I'm not a good photographer, not at all) but don't want to seem unmodest :)
Hi Laura, your pieces are just great! Wish I were so experienced already... Got quite a bit of inspiration from you, i.g. your last tshirt (the limegreen one) is great! I´ve been looking for somethink "unconventional" for a while now, have to check out sew.it now! The reversible is "low-cut"? Do you think there´s potential to rise the neckline with that pattern? Also, which pattern is the white blouse shown in this last post made up from? I tried to check your old post, but pictures all disappeared (got them in some photopage that keeps them only for a certain time? Why not upload directly to blogger?). By the way, I was in Bukarest on Easter sunday (knew you weren´t there) and it was sooo hot compared to home! Lucky you, get to wear tshirts alot in summer, I guess. Me too, but I also need a woolen cardigan on top! ;) Cheers, Eva
Thank you very much everybody for your nice and encouraging comments! Now, for Eva... Dear Eva, I found out that the more I sew the better and faster I get. I guess like in all things, practice counts a lot. Plus, I must say that being in this SWAP and feeling part of a community was a great incentive and it boosted up my creativity. The reversible is the same pattern as the limegreen top that you like, the Cross Your Heart Pattern from seewitsewit.com. It might not be very orthodox what I propose, but I can send you the pdf file with the pattern of the top - you must take them to a print shop and enlarge them 400%. The pattern is for bust sizes 30-50 in inches. So, if you want it, please send me an email and I will reply with the file. It can be altered for more decent cleavage, of course. I upload my pictures directly to blogger so they shouldn't disappear, maybe the blogger was down when you tried? Anyway, this top wasn't in my initial storyboard, a sudden inspiration struck me just at the end of the swap. It is the Brown Patterns Basic Shell, with a self-drafted sleeve. I'm so sorry I didn't know you were in Bucharest because our plans changed and we didn't leave after all... :( Please tell me if you happen to come again, it would be great to meet! Laura
Sorry, Eva, I made a mistake. You're referring to the limegreen T-shirt, not the avocado green top. It is a pattern from seewitsewit.com too and I can send that to you also. Laura
Hi Laura, Thanks for the offer! But I guess there´s a copyright on the pattern, and the woman designing the patterns should get her share for her work... Too bad you were in town, I could have admired your clothes by touching them! As it was easter sunday, everything was closed and I just strolled around town, enjoying the warmth and the sun! It was my first stay again in OTP since about two years- but maybe there´s another chance one day! Enjoy your weekend (I am away working), Eva
You're right Eva! I only offered because I know (she says it on her website) that the two patterns I bought are copied from RTW items in her closet, so I'm not that sure who has the copyright :) LauraLo
Hi Laura, Your SWAP is stunning! Love, love, love it! You should be so proud. Your houndstooth suit is fab. And I love the Hotpatterns jacket - is that part of the swap? Doesn't matter, I love the piping with the polka dots....giving me ideas...
HI Vicki and Evenstar, I'm happy you like my SWAP. The Hot Patterns jacket is not part of it, but it goes very well with everything in my SWAP, so I should count it in my SWAP extension, I guess. Laura Lo
Fabulous darling! I want you to know that my step daughter (17 years old) went through the SWAP collections with me just quickly this morning, and yours was one of only two (Shannon was the other) that got the nod from her. High praise indeed.
Thank you, Marji!!! And thank your stepdaughter for me... From my experience those 16-18 years old are the harshest critics of all, so if I've managed to please her, I feel awfully flattered! Laura
Is it ok to ask what kind of necklace that you are wearing, in the swap pictures? I'm curious if it's a coral or what kind of stone/bead it is and where you got it from? A very beautiful piece! Coordinates well with your swap!
Hi, Kay, I'm really glad you like my SWAP. I'm just starting a new one :), a summer one this time. My necklace... it's an imitation of a little pearl necklace, it's not coral and I don't know what it is, it feels more like stone than plastic. It was really cheap (about 3$), got it in the market, but it doesn't look cheap at all, but really nice and kind of vintage. One of my colleagues at work (a former chemist) tells me it must be a "composite" made of resin, because it feels like stone, but unlike stone it's not cold. I liked it so much that I bought several others, longer ones like in the 20s - you can see a black one in the photo of the red and black Jalie camisole. I also have a pale pink one, limegreen and chocolate :) Cannot resist beads... LauraLo

Hi Laura, your sewing looks so professional, and the combination of fabric and colour ... what's the word...just grand! you have inspired me now.

Everything you made is just beautiful. If as you said the garments look better in real life than in the pictures then WOW! Congrats!
Awesome collection, Laura! Very inspiring.

Hey Laura, Thanks for letting me know about them. Those beads are a very good find. Enjoy!
Your latest swap looks cool too.
